We’re on the lookout for a Temp Reliever Woodyard to assist production in reducing overtime by providing leave/training relief.
As a Temp Reliever Woodyard you will be responsible for:
- Take over and hand over shifts effectively, ensuring clear communication of operational status and outstanding issues.
- Operate wood yard equipment and processes in accordance with standard operating procedures and best operating practices.
- Relieve operators across various positions and perform all duties associated with those roles as required.
- Assist Foremen and operating staff during breakdowns, maintenance activities, and supervision of employees when necessary.
- Monitor equipment performance and promptly report breakdowns, defects, and unsafe conditions to the Foreman.
- Ensure accurate operational reporting by recording incidents, production information, and shift activities in the logbook.
- Maintain compliance with all SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, Quality) requirements by identifying hazards, taking corrective action, and maintaining good housekeeping standards.
- Participate in continuous improvement and safety initiatives, including problem-solving activities, BBS observations, and ongoing training and development programs.
What are we looking for?
- Matric (Grade 12) with Maths & Physics or N3 in Pulp and Paper.
- A National Diploma in Pulp and Paper or Chemical Engineering will be advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 month’s relevant experience as a Process Trainee/ Production Intern within a production or pulp and paper environment.
